BLG Labs – Passed ISO9001 & HACCP Audit

BLG Labs are delighted to announce that we have passed our 2025 ISO9001 and HACCP Audit.

In order to pass the audit, BLG Labs needed to display that we are continually, effectively maintaining a Quality Management System that meets the standards and requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

The audit is conducted over two stages, a documentation review and an on-site audit. The documentation review sees the auditor check, gaps in compliance, the Quality Management System documentation and the readiness for the on-site audit. Only if a company passes the documentation review will they then move on to the on-site audit.

The auditor will then make the trip to the company’s working space and observe operations, identify nonconformities, review records, processes and improvements as well as interviewing staff. The standards are based on seven key principles, which are: customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision-making, and relationship management. The assessors were particularly impressed with the way in which BLG Labs demonstrated their …

Another key point of the audit is consistently updating and developing the Quality Management System. The system must cover: Documented Information (procedures, policies, records), Quality Policy and Objectives, Risk-based thinking, Process Mapping – define inputs, outputs, responsibilities, Control of Nonconforming Outputs, Customer Feedback and Satisfaction and Internal Audits and Management Reviews.

Employee training and awareness is also assessed as part of the audit. All staff must have a comprehensive understanding of the company’s Quality Management System, their own individual responsibilities and how their work affects the quality of the business and the products.

Internal audits must also be conducted in order to ensure that all of the parts of the Quality Management System are working effectively. The Quality Management System must be reviewed by top management to check the system is effective, aligned with strategic direction and opportunities for improvements are identified.

Gap analysis is a critical part of the audit. The analysis compares the company’s current practices against ISO 9001 requirements to identify what, if anything, is non-compliant or missing.

This our 3rd successful audit with the highly respected and renowned auditing company, NQA.
